Alachua County Official Records

Alachua County court records provide public information to court cases filed in Alachua County, FL. There are a variety of types of court cases that you can access through the Alachua County Clerk of Courts. Cases include but are not limited to civil, civil traffic, criminal, tax deed sales, and domestic violence injunctions.

How to Access Court Records

You can access court records online or in-person at the Alachua County Courthouse. Online Alachua County Official records access is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Access to in-person can be done in the courthouse by appointment, or through the temporary drive-thru window from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays. You can also access court records by speaking to a representative over the phone.

Online Court Records Search

You can perform an online court records search for civil, civil traffic, and criminal Alachua County Official records. You can access documents criminal court records dating back to 2005 and civil and civil traffic court records dating back to 2001. However, you can perform research online for closed civil cases going back to 1999, closed civil traffic cases going back to March of 2006, and closed criminal cases going back to 1990.

You can search for court records by name, case number, date filed, and/or by citation number. There are other parameters that you can search, however, they are limited and require additional search parameters to be used.

The information that is available through the online court records search includes the following:

  • Case number
  • Names of parties in the case
  • Attorney information
  • Charges
  • Sentencing and dispositions
  • Court events and monetary obligations

If you are a party to a criminal court case that you are researching, you have the option of receiving reminders and notifications regarding court events through e-notify. This is a statewide service that will provide you with notifications by text or email of court events.

Official Records

Online court records search can be performed to look up official records as well. Official records can be searched by name, date, instrument number, document type, and real estate search. To access the official records search portal you will need to read and accept the disclaimers.

When performing online official court records search it is best to enter as little information as possible. You can always narrow down your search results by applying filters to the results.

Official records can be accessed going back to 1971. Document images are available going back to 1980. While you can view these records online for free, it does cost to obtain copies of official Alachua County Official records. Printing documents from the official records search website are not considered to be a certified copy. If you need a certified copy of an official record document, you will need to purchase it either in-person or over the phone.

Accessing Court Records In-person

To access court records in-person, you would need to go to the Records department of the county courthouse located in Gainesville, FL. In-person court records searches would need to be performed for information and documents that you are unable to access using the online records search system. Court records available in-person date back to July 1928.

In-person you can access the following departments by appointment:

  • Traffic
  • Research

Alachua County Court Records

As you might already know there is most information available online these days. Despite the fact that there are some official state-related and legal authorities that still operate offline, there has been a great overall improvement in that area as well.

Nowadays, you can get a lot of official things done online. Most types of forms can be submitted online by visiting the authorities’ websites, which basically serve as online platforms.

Alachua County Court records can also be accessed online with ease. To make the process for all of you who are less familiar with this kind of online process as pain-free as possible, we prepared a detailed yet simple step-by-step guide on how to access Alachua County Court records online.

Alachua County Court Records Access Guide

Here you will find simple instructions on how to go about retrieving and accessing court records and document images. Simply follow the step-by-step instruction below.

Step #1: Visit https://www.alachuaclerk.org/court_records/

Once on the site, you will see a prompt box that will have “Enter text below to sign in:” written next to it. This step is set in place so that the platform knows you are a human. Click on the prompt box and enter the combination of numbers and characters displayed in a colorful box bellow. Simple start with the most left one and enter every character/number you until you come to the right edge. They must be in the same order as in the colorful box. The trick is to look at it as a single line.

Step #2: Once you have entered all the characters /numbers into the box, click on the big button below the colorful box. The “CLICK HERE TO SEARCH” button will take you to the next step.

Step #3: If you have entered the right combination of characters/numbers then you have been redirected to the “Court Records Main Menu” page. In case you haven’t entered the right combination of characters /numbers that repeat step #2.

Once you are on the “Court Records Main Menu” page you have four option:

  • General Index Search
  • Docket Schedule
  • Case/Name Information
  • Clerk Summons Delivery System

Each of the first three options enables you to search using a variety of parameters. You should click on the one that suits your search criteria and proceed. Choose the “Clerk Summons Delivery System” option, if you’d like to access a specific case using your email.

On each of the above search option pages, you will need to enter at least some specific information on which the system can perform the search. Having these pieces of information at your hand will definitely speed up the process for you. Case type, case number, ID #, names, and others should be available to you.

Step #4: Whichever of the above search options you choose, simply enter the key data by which the search will be performed and then click on the “Submit” or “Serch” button.

Each of the search options has some specific instructions and notes on the corresponding page. Make sure to read this before performing the actual search.
