Accessing Court Records

If you need to access McHenry County Court records, the easiest and most convenient way is by using the Public Access Portal. McHenry County Court Records

The subscription will give you access to the Court’s information and document imaging databases, and other case records and documents that are accessible to court personnel only. This requires payment of a setup fee and completion of an application for remote access. You will also need to sign an Electronic Subscriber’s Agreement, and mail all items to the following address:

What is the Mchenry County Public Access Portal?

This is a unique website designed and managed by Mchenry County government in Illinois State. The portal is used to access security details ranging from crime numbers, criminal records, court records and other vital public records. An appointed circuit clerk regularly updates the portal.

How to Access Mchenry County Public Access Portal

When looking into cases in the portal one needs to follow the below steps.

  • You require an active internet connection for browsing.
  • On your browser key in the domain name of the website which should be https://caseinfo.mchenrycountyil.gov/pca
  • A dashboard will pop up containing the latest information on the circuit court.
  • Below the website are two tabs to search for your court information. The other tab is for subscribing for prompt reminders for court events.
  • Click on the tab for court cases information; it will lead you to a new page and will open up for searching.
  • The page has three tabs that will guide you when searching for case numbers, ticket numbers and party name search.

Upon clicking the case number search button, it will display a section to enter the number. Below this section are essential guidelines to adhere to when searching they include

  • Typing the case number on the search box
  • Capitalization is not necessary.
  • There is no need to enter zeros, only enter whole numbers.
  • The ticket number search has a box to search from and the following search tips.
  • Type the ticket number exactly as it appears on your ticket
  • Use numbers only between 5-20 digits.
  • Capitalization is not a requirement, but if they are used, they should be correct for accurate results of the appropriate case record.

The last tab on the page is the Party Name Search button. In this section, you can search a case by the participant’s names. Always begin by first typing the last name followed with the first name.

Below the box are search tips which include

  • You are required to search a person’s name using the format Last, First and Middle name.
  • The system will provide you with a list of names that are matched with the entered value.
  • Should you get too many results from your search, try specifying your search.
  • Here capitalization is not a necessity.
  • Keep in mind that the only allowed characters which are not letters are comma, hyphen space and periods or full stop.

The Reminder’s Page

This section focuses on creating alerts and reminders for your next court session. Moreover, it is beneficial to sign up to receive email or text reminders. You need to complete and sign up form and press the reminds me button.

Below are the details to be filled

  • The case numbers
  • Your names, use the format of starting with your first name, followed by your last name.
  • Proceed to fill in your email address.
  • For those who prefer notification by text messages fill in your preferred mobile brand and your mobile number.
  • Lastly, there are notes which provide information regarding terms and conditions as well as validating the email link.

Once you have covered all the milestones, click on the remind me button, and you are good to go.
