Requesting Hidalgo County Court Records

There are a number of ways to obtain county court records, including email, mail, or fax. You can also obtain court records in-person by visiting Hidalgo County Courthouse, 100 North Closner, Edinburg, TX 78539. If you have internet access you can visit https://pa.co.hidalgo.tx.us/Search.aspx?ID=100, to obtain Hidalgo County Court records for civil, criminal, family, and/or probate cases.

Email

You can receive copies of uncertified court records by emailing a copy request form to open.records@co.hidalgo.tx.us. You can submit a written request in the form of an email or by filling out the Request for Public Information Form found on the county court website.

When you submit a request by email you will need to include a copy of a valid photo identification card and a copy of a credit card. The court records will then be emailed to you unless you have requested certified copies. Certified copies are either mailed or placed in a bin for you to pick up within 5 days.

Mail

If you wish to receive copies of court records by mail, you will need to submit a copy request form or submit a written request to the following address:

When you submit a request by mail to be returned in the same manner, you will need to include one self-addressed stamped envelope for every 5 pages that will be sent to you. You can contact the District Clerk’s office to confirm the number of pages for your request.

Fax

Uncertified county court records can be faxed to you by submitting the request, copy of credit card, and photo id to the following fax number: 956-318-2251. When faxing your request, you will need to indicate whether you want certified or uncertified records, and how you wish to receive them.

Online

If you go to the court records search website link previously provided, you can obtain uncertified copies of court records online. You can search for court records by case number, defendant name, business name, or by name of the attorney. When you see the record that you are looking for click on the link to access the court record.

Type of Information That is Provided

When you perform an online search for Hidalgo County Court records, you are able to view the defendant’s information, the court events including disposition and sentencing, the charge, the case type, the location where the case was filed, the date filed, attorney information, and a link to review the document images that are electronically available. If you are unable to access the information that you need online, you will need to contact the court.
